A Wine Lover’s Guide to European Wine.
Where else can you get eighty-six signature wine recommendations from the best regions of Austria, England, France, Greece, Germany, Italy, Portugal, and Spain at this price? Color maps, book recommendations, historical tidbits, and a how-to section on storing, serving, tasting, and pairing wine are included. I give you the key to understanding European wine labels and how their appellation systems work. A valuable glossary of wine terms is a handy checklist of all the recommended wines and information beyond signature wine regions, so that you can dive deeper into unknown appellations.
A Wine Lover’s Guide to New World Wine.
In this second book in the “A Taste of Wine” series, I recommend thirty-six signature wines from the New World. I showcase the best California, Washington, Oregon, New York, and Virginia appellations, including beautiful color maps. Then, I move on to Canada, Mexico, South America, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. As in my first book, I provide a valuable checklist of all the recommended wines, a glossary, and historical tidbits of information.
A Wine Lover’s Guide to Virginia Wine.
In the final “A Taste of Wine” series, I analyze the results of Virginia’s Governor’s Cup, the Loudoun Wine Awards, the Monticello Cup Wine Competition, and the Shenandoah Cup Wine Competition, and use the Virginia Commercial Grape Report to find out what Virginia is growing and who the stars of Virginia wine are. I had a wonderful experience interviewing ten winemakers and winery owners from around Virginia, including Bluestone Vineyards, Chatham Vineyards on Church Creek, Early Mountain Vineyards, Fabbioli Cellars, Hillsborough Vineyards, October One Vineyard, Ramiiisol Vineyards, Veritas Vineyard & Winery, Walsh Family Wine, and Williamsburg Winery.
Food and Wine Pairing – October One Vineyard
There is no substitute for experimentation when creating food and wine pairings. Verifying which food goes well with your wine takes determination and time. That is what we have done for you here. We experimented with over one hundred food items to see how they paired with October One Vineyard’s wines to bring you curated menus. Menus that are full of choices for snacks, appetizers, meals, and desserts. We also include recipes with October One Vineyard’s wine as the theme ingredient in marinades and sauces.
The Never-Ending Cookbook
The engine of food evolution combines celebrity chefs, internet trends, culinary entrepreneurs, media, cultural integration, and a spirit of experimentation. As our food evolves, as seen by these recipes, the echoes of the old world remain, reverberating through our cuisine. This book is dedicated to home chefs and culinary entrepreneurs with a love for cooking and the spirit of experimentation. While most recipes here are mine, I am delighted to include food lovers with unique culinary backgrounds in this first edition: a Brazilian from São Paulo, a New Yorker from the Adirondack Mountain region, and a Korean-born American.
The Inquiry of Good Wine
The Inquiry of Good Wine is a compilation of stimulating commentaries by the influential wine specialist and author Harry P. Price. Each article reveals aspects of the author’s thoughts and experiences that he does not want to keep to himself. In this selection, covering subjects such as winemaking and unlocking the complexity of Bordeaux, the anatomy of vines, and how to discern a good wine, Price goes beyond general knowledge to significant aspects of wine and culture: Why is wine unique? What can we do to enjoy wine better? Should we know the origin of our wine? How can we gain a comprehensive understanding of wine? This stimulating collection will keep your interest piqued while opening the world of wine like never before.
